Ingredients:

For the Basil Syrup: -1/2 cup water -1/2 cup sugar -3/4 cups tightly packed fresh basil leaves Directions:

1) In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring water and sugar to a boil. Stirring occasionally, boil for 2 minutes or until sugar has dissolved.2) Remove from heat and add basil leaves. Allow basil leaves to steep for 10 minutes or until cooled slightly. Strain syrup into a jar or glass bottle. Discard basil leaves. Store syrup in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For the Pineapple: -1 large pineapple, cut into 12 spears Directions: 1) Preheat grill to medium high heat 2) Skewer pineapple spears onto sticks (if using wooden skewers soak in water for 30 minutes prior to use). 3) Grill pineapple spears for 6-8 minutes per side or until slightly charred and tender 4) Serve grilled pineapple spears drizzled with basil syrup and enjoy!
